Youth Empowerment and Safety (YES)
Sexual Violence Prevention for Parents and Youth-Serving Professionals.
Youth Empowerment and Safety is an educational workshop designed to equip parents, caregivers, and professionals who work with youth with the knowledge and tools to prevent sexual violence and protect children from harm.
This program addresses the realities of sexual assault, child sexual abuse, and exploitation—focusing on how adults can recognize the warning signs, create safe environments, and have proactive, age-appropriate conversations with children. Participants also learn how to respond to suspicion and disclosures of abuse with care and connect families with critical support resources.
Participants will learn to:
- Understand definitions of sexual abuse, assault, and exploitation
- Recognize red flags and early warning signs of sexual abuse
- Use effective strategies to talk to children about consent and sexual violence
- Take proactive steps to prevent sexual abuse and exploitation in homes, schools, and communities and online
- Respond supportively to discoveries or disclosure of abuse
- Identify and access resources for survivors and their families
This training empowers adults to take an active role in protecting youth—building safer environments where children can thrive.
Perfect for parents and youth-serving professionals.
