Director of Prevention & Education

The Director of Prevention & Education is responsible for the overall administration of Prevention & Education Services. Key functions of the role include program development (all aspects from planning through evaluation and reporting), departmental strategic planning, and program implementation from a social change perspective. In a time of rapid growth, this position will ensure that the structure of the Prevention and Education department is sustainable, and our programs are scalable. This includes supervising a team of 20+ full-time and part-time staff members; overseeing training for all staff; developing innovative and engaging curriculum for middle school-aged participants through adults; aligning all curriculum with current best-practices and scientifically-supported approaches; building collaborative relationships with community partners; and overseeing all outreach and administrative processes.

The Director is an experienced and skilled workshop facilitator and presenter. The position requires the ability to facilitate programs in a wide range of settings, including middle schools, high schools, higher education, incarceration settings (youth and adult), bars/nightlife venues, parent and youth-serving professional organizations, and more.

The Director of Prevention & Education is a representative of The Blue Bench in community settings and attends community meetings as an agency representative. This position requires occasional evenings and weekends; flexibility is a must. Driver's license and transportation is required for travel to training locations throughout the Denver area.

Bilingual Case Manager

The Bilingual Case Manager serves as an advocate for victims of sexual assault as they navigate through the criminal justice, medical and social service communities, with a particular emphasis on Latino/Latina communities. This includes the delivery of services in Spanish. The Case Manager assists clients with accessing needed resources, developing support systems and provides emotional support and crisis management to clients through the process of moving from being a victim to becoming a survivor. This includes working a flexible schedule during on-call shifts to provide hospital advocacy to victims of sexual assault.

The Case Manager educates the community on the issue of sexual assault and to enhance utilization of The Blue Bench’s services by Latino/Latina clientele. The Case Manager collaborates with other community organizations building and maintaining networks to provide seamless services to clients.

Prevention Program Facilitation Intern

The primary role of the Prevention Program Facilitation Intern is to be an engaging and professional facilitator within The Blue Bench Prevention Programs and at outreach events. Our programs are developmentally-appropriate and rooted in scientifically-supported approaches. Programs range from 1 hour to 6 hours, and are frequently scheduled over multiple days to complete the full curriculum. Outreach events are usually 2 to 8 hours in length and can fall on weekdays as well as weekends. The position is required to complete 160 facilitation and outreach hours between July 2019 – June 2020. The specific hours assigned will change week-to-week based on the needs of our community partners.

Prevention Specialists

The Blue Bench is currently hiring for both Flexible Hourly Part-Time Prevention Specialists and 20-Hour Part-Time Prevention Specialists.

Do you have experience as a workshop facilitator or educator? Are you passionate about sexual violence prevention? If so, working as a Prevention Specialist with The Blue Bench might be the job for you! The primary role of the Prevention Specialist is to be an engaging and professional facilitator within all of The Blue Bench Prevention Programs. This position requires excellent public speaking skills, a strong understanding of the dynamics of sexual violence, and ability to work flexible hours. The Blue Bench serves our diverse Denver Metro communities and values diversity among staff. Flexible Hourly Part-Time Prevention Specialists:

  • Have the option to schedule their prevention programs as they are available week-to-week, and have flexibility in the number of hours worked each week (between 0 and 40 in any given week)
  • Facilitate prevention programs and do not have administrative duties in The Blue Bench office

20-Hour Part-Time Prevention Specialists:

  • Have set hours each week that will generally fall between 7:30am and 2:00pm to accommodate traditional school hours (our busiest hours), totaling 20 hours per week (with the option to take on additional prevention programs beyond the 20 hours)
  • Spend some of their time on administrative functions in The Blue Bench office when not scheduled for an offsite prevention program

Community Organizers

The Blue Bench is the only sexual assault prevention and care center in the country that runs a full-time, professional community organizing (door-to-door canvass) department!  We are looking for candidates with excellent communication skills and a passion for social justice and a commitment to ending sexual violence in our communities.

Position hours:
FULL TIME: Mon-Fri, 2-10 PM
PART TIME: 3 days/ wk, 2-10 PM

Compensation:

$408.00/wk plus bonuses
PART TIME: $206.40/wk plus bonuses
