For Myself

Understanding My Experience

Healing is possible.

The Blue Bench is here to meet you where you are in your process, help you navigate your questions, and help you choose a path toward healing that’s right for you.

You may have many questions and perhaps they are constantly changing. That’s ok. We understand that the time after a sexual assault, whether it happened moments or years ago, can be overwhelming, confusing and frightening.

Whether your assault happened as a child or an adult, whether you remember it or not, no matter your gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, or race, what happened was not your fault and healing is possible

At The Blue Bench, we believe that cost should never be a barrier to receiving the support you need.

All of our survivor services are available to teens and adults of all gender and sexual identities and are offered in English and Spanish. Most of our services are based on recommended donations; however, no one is turned away for inability to pay.

There’s no right time to ask for help or the right place to start. Sometimes it can be helpful to narrow down your needs before taking the next step:

Our Continuum of Care, led by our professional Care Team, allows survivors, their families and friends to come to us and be heard, believed and supported, regardless of when the sexual assault occurred.

The Blue Bench is here for survivors of sexual assault 13 years of age and older* of all gender identities, ethnic/racial identities, sexual identities, and religious backgrounds who reside in our 9-county service area.

Employees at The Blue Bench are mandated reporters. This means if there is reason to believe that a child, elder or adult with developmental disabilities is being abused, and you have given us enough information to identify (full name, address, school, phone number, etc.) the potential victim or abuser, we might have to report it to authorities. We do this for the protection of children and at-risk adults but want you to be in control of what information you choose to share.
