COVID 19 & The Blue Bench

A Letter From our Executive Director

At The Blue Bench, the health and safety of the community is a top priority. To limit exposure of COVID-19 among the individuals we serve, our partners, and our staff, we closed our physical office locations effective Wednesday, March 18, 2020 with a limited reopening starting in the month of June.

Our staff continue to focus on serving survivors and their loved ones. For any immediate needs, such as emotional and crisis support, please contact our 24/7 sexual assault hotline at 303.322.7273 (English) or 303-329-0031 (Spanish). For other matters, please call our office line at 303-329-9922, which will continue to be answered during regular business hours. All messages will be forwarded.

As always, I thank you. Because of your support, we are here for survivors, even during these unprecedented times. Please take care of yourself and your loved ones!

Karmen Carter

If you visit The Blue Bench, you will notice that we are taking a few extra percautions to ensure the safety of our visitors and staff. During this time, please comply with the following and any additional directions given to you by your host at The Blue Bench.

Everyone must wear a mask at all times when in the building.  If you do not have a mask, we will supply one upon your arrival. Additionally, we will make a concerted effert to always maintain at least 6 feet of social distance.

In our main office, the front door to the building will remain locked at all times. An individual from The Blue Bench will be available to let you into the building. Once in the building, one person will be allowed on the elevator at a time, unless you are accompanied by another individual and are comfortable with sharing the elevator with that individual. There are also designated stairwells for traffic going up as well as designated stairwells for traffic going down. Please follow the directions posted on stairwell doors and use only the appropriate stairwell.

Staff and visitors are required to appropriately wash their hands and use hand sanitizer immediately upon arrival in our office space. We are also wiping down surfaces throughout the day, regularly spraying disinfectant on surfaces and spacing appointments appropriately to allow for increased distancing and cleaning time.

If you or someone you care for is experiencing any of the following symptoms, please do not visit our offices until symptom-free for 48 hours.

Please contact us if you have been to the office and you or someone you care for tests positive for COVID-19.

Thank you for your cooperation!
