In light of the recent allegations of sexual violence within the arts community, The Blue Bench and the Art District on Santa Fe (ADSF) want to acknowledge the bravery of those who have come forward with their experiences. We want to make it clear: We believe you, and survivors are always our priority. We do not condone or support individuals or organizations that commit and/or uphold sexual violence, assault, and/or harassment.
Our commitment remains to support survivors in every possible way. We understand that pursuing legal action can be complex and often overwhelming. We stand with all survivors, regardless of their choice to report. We will support survivors on their healing journey.
At The Blue Bench, we are available to support survivors through case management and advocacy, crisis hotline support, and resource navigation. If you are a survivor and would like to receive support, please contact our Resource Line at 303-329-9922 ext. 302 or resourceline@thebluebench.org.
ADSF is working closely with The Blue Bench to uphold the district as a safe space and to provide resources to affected individuals. ADSF will enroll in The Blue Bench’s SHIELD (Sexual Harassment Intervention, Education, and Leadership Development) program to equip staff, volunteers, and members with sexual harassment training. Resources from The Blue Bench will also be available at M&D Artistries this First Friday.
Together, we will ensure that appropriate actions are taken to protect individuals and uphold our shared values so that ADSF can thrive as a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment for all.
In community and solidarity,
The Blue Bench & Denver’s Art District on Santa Fe
