The Zonta Club of Denver Partners with The Blue Bench

The Zonta Club of Denver recently presented The Blue Bench with a check for $8,000 to continue the Safe Bars program. The club has participated in the program the past three years. Zonta is also partnering with The Blue Bench with the poster program “Yes Means Yes,” which are posted in participating establishments that have been Safe Bars trained.

The Zonta Club of Denver is part of Zonta International, which works with the UN to improve the lives of women and girls around the globe. Zonta envisions a world in which women’s rights are human rights and in such a world no woman lives in fear of violence.

The Club holds fundraisers throughout the year to raise money for individual local projects like The Blue Bench, and also for international projects. The current fundraiser, The Day of Film, will be held on March 26 in Turnhalle Hall at Metro State University. This year’s film shines a light on the problem of child marriage in America. See www.zontadenver.org for tickets and more information about Zonta Club of Denver.
